My Scanner Isn't Working

If your scanner isn't working properly, we recommend going through the questions/steps below to identify and solve the problem:

There are three possible reasons your scanner may not be working properly:
- Scanner got deprogrammed
- Scanner needs to be replaced
- Scanner model requires special programming
Troubleshooting Label Scanner Issues
If your label scanner isn’t working correctly, follow the steps below to diagnose and resolve the issue.
1. Test the Scanner in a Basic Text Field
Open Notepad, then scan a label.
- If nothing appears: continue with the next steps.
- If it scans in Notepad but not in your POS system: Contact support.
2. Restart the Computer
Reboot the workstation and test the scanner again once the system is fully back up.
3. Power-Cycle the Scanner
- Unplug the scanner, wait 5 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Once you see the green/ready light, attempt another scan.
4. Try a Different USB Port
- If the scanner is still unresponsive, move it to another USB port and test again.
